Youth and Adult program volunteer opportunities are available

Volunteer Information Form
Internships - Contact us if you are looking for internship level work experience in marketing, fund raising, or social media. These are not paid positions but we will give you some very good experience to help your resume. 

Community Service Opportunities - We are a 501c3 Non-Profit. If you are looking to satisfy a high school or employment community service requirement we can help.

How to Help

Youth Class Lead Instructor
Paid position- responsible for running youth classes, leading group lessons, and delivering the curriculum in a timely manner. Preference given to those with US Sailing Level 1 certification. Youth Leads for 420s, Optis and Flying Scot/Interlakes.

Youth and Adult Instructor/Coach
Paid and volunteer positions responsible for delivering sailing lessons to groups of participants i.e., instructing 3 or 4 adult or youth. participants on a Flying Scot or coaching 420/Opti youth sailors from a safety boat  or shoreside.

Youth Assistant Instructor
Assist the class lead by teaching to the curriculum, working with participants to understand sailing concepts, and ensure safety protocols are being followed. 

Helping Hand
Help monitor participants, help keep participants engaged in sailing activities, and assist within comfort range for rigging/ derigging, launching, etc. 

Shore Support
Assist with following "rule of 3", standby to assist with basic first aid (bandaids), monitor participants during break times to follow good behavior standards. 

Social Media
Create posts for Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Participant Recruiting/ Marketing
Spread the word! Help share our program with those who wouldn't consider sailing as a summer activity. 

Join the Maintenance and Launch team
Help with facility maintenance, spring set up and fall break down, rigging/ derigging the fleet, and any miscellaneous project with woodworking, electrical, etc. 

Gelcoat/ fiberglass work
Our fleet has acquired many dents and dings and needs repair in any capacity of fiberglass work. 

Powerboat/ Safety boat training
Are you a safety guru on powerboats? Help train our volunteers on best practices for small outboard safety boats- center console and tiller steer outboards.
