Where
Our Tartan 10 is docked at Grayhaven State Harbor, just a short sail from the excitement and open water of Lake St. Clair.
The Boat and Skipper
Step aboard a larger racing yacht and experience the energy, teamwork, and strategy of competitive sailing. Macho Duck is a Tartan 10, a fast 33-foot fractional sloop built to race and owned by the Detroit Community Sailing Center. You’ll train with US Coast Guard Certified Captain Kevin Cohan and Matt Bizer, both experienced competitive skippers, with special guest instruction from members of Fast Tango racing yacht, one of the most successful Great Lakes racing teams.

Learn All Crew and Skipper Positions
Build confidence across every role on the boat as you sharpen your skills in boat handling, sail trim, racing rules, teamwork, safety, logistics, maintenance awareness, and more.
Prerequisite
This program is designed for sailors who are ready to level up. It is not for beginners; solid sailing skills are required. Intermediate sailors are encouraged to take this exciting next step, and others may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
